Conor Gallagher has no intention of leaving Chelsea as rumors link him to Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Everton, Southampton and Nottingham Forest.

After a brilliant loan spell at Palace last season, the midfielder has struggled to make his return to Chelsea this season. He started just seven games under Graham Potter, scoring just one goal and one assist so far.

With Potter ready to reshape his team, Gallagher doesn’t appear to be in his long-term plans and a departure from Stamford Bridge could be the best for the 22-year-old.

The England international’s excellent reputation has other Premier League clubs raving about him, but the player is believed to be eager to stay.

According to the Mail Online, Gallagher is determined to make it at his boyhood club and has no interest in signing for anyone else.

It is also clear that Chelsea are not ready to let him go given the injury crisis that has hit the club, with nine players currently in the treatment room, including midfielders N’Golo Kante and Denis Zakaria.

That could change in the summer, though, when Potter has no choice but to sell off unwanted assets to downsize his bloated team and balance the books after a season of ridiculous spending.

Despite Palace being the side most closely linked to the signing of Gallagher, Eagles fans were disappointed on Tuesday when Patrick Vieira claimed his side had no intention of re-signing their former star.

Asked if Palace had held talks for the midfielder during his press conference with Manchester United for Wednesday, the manager replied: “No. There are ways to improve this side of the game [in the market].

“This is a very difficult time to find players who can improve the squad.

“We’ve managed to identify those players – we’ve identified the names of the players we want – and now it’s in the hands of the football club to try and do that.

“But at the same time it is not easy. It is very complicated and very difficult. We are working hard to win these players.”
