PSG: Mbappe scores 1,500th goal in QSI history

It was a seemingly innocuous goal that sealed PSG’s victory and shattered the slight tension surrounding the Coupe de France round of 16 between Pays de Cassel and PSG. In the 35th minute, Kylian Mbappé scored the third Parisian goal and 1,500th goal in all competitions for his club since the QSI takeover in 2011. Although PSG have been crushing all rivals for a decade, they are breaking record after record and allowing their consistent attackers to make their mark on history.

Mbappe chasing Cavani’s record

In the list of the best scorers in the history of PSG, the first 4 places are occupied by players from the QSI era, which is another proof of the shareholder’s influence on the history and identity of the capital club. With 200 goals in 301 games, Edinson Cavani is the club’s all-time leading scorer. He is followed by Kylian Mbappe (196), who should soon overtake him. Then come Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156 goals) and Neymar (115). When it comes to goal-per-game ratio, Carlos Bianchi remains untouchable. With 0.887 goals per game, he is ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (0.867) and Kylian Mbappe.

Over 1000 goals in Ligue 1

Unsurprisingly, the competition in which PSG have scored the most goals since 2011 is Ligue 1 (1,008 goals in 426 games). The Champions League is second with 220 goals in 101 games, while the French Cup closes the top three. it is the competition in which PSG score the fewest goals per game, with an average of 2,178 goals. The French Cup is the favorite competition of the Parisian club, and in Ligue 1, the Parisians score 2366 goals per game.

2017-2018, with Emery, highest scoring season

After a humiliating comeback against Barcelona (6-1), shareholders are aware of a historic transfer window. Neymar and Mbappe land to support Cavani and Di Maria in attack. This quartet will break everything to achieve the club’s highest ever record in 2017-2018 with 171 goals scored, 70 goals more than the club’s lowest-scoring season under QSI. This was in 2011-2012 on the orders of Antoine Comboire, then Carlo Ancelotti.
