No time to waste. Just two weeks after his retirement from football, Gareth Bale announced this Monday his entry into professional golf by confirming his participation in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Amtournament of PGA Tour to be held next month in Pebble Beach, California (United States).

“Thrilled to announce that I will be playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am early next month! Let’s go”, said the former Welsh footballer through social networks.

Bale, 33, announced in a statement on Monday his retirement “with immediate effect” from football, after having participated with his team in the World Cup in Qatar, where the British team was eliminated in the first phase.

“After careful and in-depth consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international soccer,” wrote the former player for Real Madrid and Tottenham, among other teams, and currently with Los Angeles FC in the US league, in a message posted on their social networks.
