‘Ghost: The Shadow of Love’ could have a new version led by Channing Tatum

The popular film Ghost: the shadow of love, starring Patrick Swayze Y Demi Moorewhich gained popularity during the 1990s, is in negotiations to have its own remake with channing tatum as protagonist.

This was revealed by the Hollywood actor in an interview with the renowned medium Vanity Fair, where in addition to confirming that he will be part of the latest installment of magic mikealso pointed out that his production company Free Association owns the rights to the classic melodrama, and that they are doing their best to produce a modernized version of the story.

“He’s trying to put together a new version of Ghost, with Tatum himself taking over the role once played by Patrick Swayze,” stated the note.

“But we are going to do something different,” Tatum warned. “I think the remake needs to change a bit, simply because times change,” added the actor, generating a lot of expectation among the fans, who are quite anxious to see the result.

It is not the first time that the actor and model is dedicated to the production of a film. In 2022, he directed and starred in “Dog: A Wild Ride,” in which he plays a member of the Army who travels the entire US coast with his pet to get to his soldier’s funeral. The film grossed $85 million, and Ghost is now expected to replicate the success of that film.

The film directed by Jerry Zucker, Ghost is a film starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, where the ghost of a banker who was murdered sets out to save his girlfriend from the difficulties she has with her enemies.

Ghost earned five Oscar nominations, including best picture, and also won the award for original screenplay. The film grossed $505 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1990 and, at the time, the third highest-grossing film in history, becoming a worldwide success.
