In the photo in Pelosi’s office during the storming of the Capitol, a convicted American

His photo went around the world. Richard Barnett, 62, who was immortalized with his feet on a desk in Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi’s office during the Capitol storm, was convicted on Monday of multiple misdemeanors including obstructing an official process, stealing and breaking into an official building with a dangerous weapon (a cane capable of sending electric shocks).

On January 6, 2021, Richard Barnett, along with hundreds of supporters of former Republican President Donald Trump, invaded the House of Congress as elected officials confirmed Democrat Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. He was photographed in the office of House Leader Nancy Pelosi, standing on furniture.

He claimed to have been “pushed inside”

According to the indictment, this supporter of the Canon conspiracy movement left an insulting message to the Democrat and stole an envelope she signed. During his trial, he was defiant, claiming that the mob “pushed” him inside the Capitol.

He will be sentenced in May. In the meantime, he remains under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

During the two years of investigation, more than 950 participants in this terrorist act were arrested, about 200 were sentenced to prison terms.
