Who is the player who was trained in Bremen and hopes to get his papers as a Peruvian?

The Peruvian team had great support last Saturday in their friendly against Germany despite playing in the Teutonic city of Mainz. The Peruvians arrived to see the Bicolor, one of the links they have with the land where they were born.

Among those thousands of compatriots was Yannick Filipovic Mayuri, a 25-year-old soccer player who plays in German soccer and went to see the team he still dreams of playing for, the Peruvian team of course. He is a defender who plays in the fifth division of Germany, with a father from Montenegro and a mother from Peru, he has totally red-and-white feelings.

With his 1.95m. tall he could not go unnoticed. Yannick Filipovic Mayuri encouraged like a true Peruvian, despite not speaking much Spanish. He sang and watched the team he always dreamed of playing for. His eyes shone, and his mind visualized that desire to have the opportunity at some point, the bicolor for the love and affection that his mother has transmitted to him about Peru. He was approached by El Comercio, to tell us about his feelings of seeing the bicolor in the city of Mainz.

“Peru was very passionate. They played with passion and gave their hearts out on the field. For me the best are the fans of Peru, how they support their team all over the world and how proud they are. It was incredible to see those emotions,” Yannick Filipovic Mayuri told El Comercio at first.

“Peru has some players who are technical and strong, but, without a doubt, Germany is one of the greatest soccer nations in the world, but tonight I was a Peruvian fan,” he analyzed what was seen on the pitch.

Yannick Filipovic Mayuri, a defender trained in Fortuna Düsseldorf and Werder Bremen, plays today in the fifth division of Germany. He became popular a few years ago on social networks due to his talent. Although he still does not have the Peruvian papers, he wants to be able to manage them so that at some point, if contact is made, he can represent Peru.

“I feel good in football. It sure would be a dream to play in my mother’s country. The club I play for now is called FC Monheim, but in Germany the level in the different divisions is high. I still don’t have a Peruvian passport. I really would like to have it, but I don’t know how to get it,” Yannick Filipovic Mayuri told this newspaper.
