While Paris has qualified to host the 2024 Olympics, we invite you to discover the venues where the events will take place.
- Location: Arenas de Bercy
Basketball, athletics, handball, tennis, hockey… The former Palais Omnisport, which became the AccordHotels Arena in 2015, is one of the main sports venues in the capital. At the 2024 Olympics, it will host two disciplines. A second arena will be built between the original enclosure and the Seine.
- Sports: basketball, judo and wrestling
Basketball will arrive in the conquered land as the Arena is used to the orange ball. It remains to be seen if any country will succeed by 2024 in overthrowing the United States, which continues to win six consecutive women’s Olympics and three consecutive men’s Olympics.
Judo competitions will also be held in this setting. Two-time Olympic champion Teddy Riner did not rule out extending the adventure until 2024. Arena 2 will host certain matches of the women’s and men’s basketball tournaments. It will also focus on wrestling.
At the Paralympic Games, the main arena will host wheelchair basketball. Arena 2 will be dedicated to table tennis with disabilities.
- Spectator capacity
The main building will be able to accommodate 16,200 spectators. Arena 2 will have a capacity of 8,000 seats.
- Equipment condition: to be built
Completely renovated between 2014 and 2015, the Arena is now ready to host the Games. Her little sister has yet to be fully built.
