Paolo Guerrero becomes the oldest Peruvian scorer in the history of the Copa Libertadores

History has been generous with Paolo Guerrero, and he deserves it. This Wednesday, April 5, at Racing vs. Ñublense for date 1 of the Copa Libertadores broke two records that will last.

With the goal scored in the eighth minute of the second half, the ‘Predator’ (39 years, 3 months and 4 days) surpasses Wilmer Aguirre (38 years, 11 months and 25 days) as the oldest Peruvian player to score in the history of the Copa Libertadores.

Let’s remember that the last goal of ‘Zorrito’ in the continental tournament was in 2022, in Alianza Lima’s draw (1-1) against Colo Colo.

Also, now, he is the oldest player to score for an Argentine team (Racing Club) in the same competition. The Peruvian takes the mark from José Sand, who scored at the age of 37, 4 months and 12 days in the final of the 2017 edition between Lanús and Gremio.
