The Snowhall of Amnéville should be saved and reopen in the fall

Europe’s longest indoor ski slope is set to reopen soon. The Snowhall in Amnéville (Moselle) will be operated by a new investor, the Dutch group SnowWorld. Its opening is scheduled for early October, reports Lorraine News.

This equipment had been closed since the first confinement, in March 2020, because of the Covid-19. It was following a call for tenders that the group, market leader in indoor skiing, SnowWorld, was chosen by the SPL’s strategic committee. It gives it a “service concession” over eight years, explains France Bleu Amnéville.

Towards site development

This takeover “constitutes excellent news for the sustainability of this facility, especially since the company plans to make significant investments dedicated to its modernization” declared the president of the SPL, Eric Munier, and the mayor of the city. , in a press release relayed by our colleagues.

The new operator already manages six indoor ski slopes in the Netherlands and Germany. For this new project in Amnéville, the group plans to create outdoor sliding activities in order to develop the site. It is the first time that the group arrives in France, and all hope that it will save the Snowhall.
