Arsenal will reportedly ask for €40 million to sell striker Folarin Balogun amid interest from German club RB Leipzig.

The Gunners are likely to sell Balogun this summer despite his excellent form on loan at Reims, with Mikel Arteta planning to raise transfer funds for other players.

The 21-year-old had a fantastic season in Ligue 1, scoring his 18th goal of the season against Brest last weekend.

This puts Balogun just one shot behind top scorers Kylian Mbappé and Jonathan David in France’s top flight.

Balogun reportedly does not want to return to Arsenal if he only becomes the third-choice striker.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are both ahead of him in the pecking order and the Gunners are ready to hear offers of more than 40 million euros, reports Germany’s Sky.

Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has already announced Balogun’s commitment as a replacement for Christopher Nkunku, who moves to Chelsea.

[to Arsenal] because the loan was only for a year, so that was always the deal.

“But I wouldn’t, uh, I’m not sure what’s going to happen in the future. A lot can happen in football, a lot can change. It just depends on the talks we have between me and the club this summer and we’ll see what happens.

When asked if he would like to return to France next season – on loan or on a permanent contract – Balogun added: “Yeah, I mean there’s no door that’s locked.”

“Obviously I had a good year here and for many it is logical that I will come back here. So yeah, I mean I don’t know what the future will bring.
