It is the second competition in the year in which Kimberly competes. The first of hers was the 35km in Dudinska 50 (Slovakia), where she achieved the world record for this distance on March 25.
In Poland it was the first opportunity to achieve the minimum mark towards Paris 2024, but he managed to win the test in 1:30:17, when the requested record is 1:29:20. The competition was held around the Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
However, it was a result that was within Kimberly García’s plans, as she had advanced to Total Sport. In Poland it is the first 20km test and it came from the wear and tear of the 35km a month ago.
“I’m going to look for the brand for the Games in Poland or Rio Maior,” Kimberly García herself told us in the interview she gave us about the DT Anniversary Awards.
“Maybe in Poland if they ask me to recover well from Slovakia, we will march at a different pace and go to Portugal for the record. We are going to see how we are progressing in each competition ”, he added in this regard. For this reason, this test in Warsaw was to mark his steps in this new season, since since August 2022 he had not competed until last March.
And soon he will have the opportunity to achieve the mark towards Paris 2024- On April 30 he competes in the 10km International Grand Prix of Madrid and on May 6 he will have the test towards the Games in the 20km of Rio Maior, in Portugal.
Date | Proof | Competence |
---|---|---|
April 30 | 10km | Madrid International Grand Prix |
May 6 | 20km | Rio Maior International Grand Prix |
May 21 | 20km | European Race Walking Team Championships |
June 3 | 20k | Cantons of A Coruna Marching Grand Prix |
After that, he will have two more 20km competitions where he can also test the brand, in the Czech Republic on May 21 or in La Coruña on June 3. In Poland it was his first 20km this year and he is measuring his pace well in each test.
Thus, Kimberly García has competed in two tests this year and has won both competitions. She continues with her winning steps and will soon make the mark for Paris, since her personal bests are below that time. It’s just a matter of getting into her rhythm.
