Motorcycling: Peruvians continue in the race in the Latin American Speed Championship

Last weekend, on May 27 and 28, the second stage of the most important motorcycle championship in Latin America was held, in which the Peruvians Efraín Balladares and Aymon Bocanegra competed. The city of Campo Grande, in Brazil, was the scene of dates 3 and 4 of the circuit.

The pilot Efraín Balladares had a fall in the third set of free practices, where he reached the seventh best time in his category. “We came very well, lowering the lap time by almost 7 tenths of a second, unfortunately I accelerated a little earlier in the corner and it cost us the crash. Now we are going to concentrate on recovery and preparation for the next round of the championship”, he stated.

On the other hand, the young 12-year-old pilot Aymon Bocanegra participated in the Talent category and achieved 12th place on the second date. The Peruvian athlete finished in the second squad of the most competitive category of the championship.

“We are leaving with a lot of learning from this third and fourth round, we came back stronger, we managed to set a super time in the second race. I want to thank Yamaha Peru for this super opportunity to support Peruvian talent in this beautiful sport”, Aymon said.

The support

For the third consecutive year, Yamaha Motor Peru continues to support Peruvian athletes so that they can participate in international motorcycling competitions. Its objective is to make Peruvian talent known so that many young people can develop sports motorcycling professionally and amateurly.

This project is also possible thanks to the support of the La Chutana racetrack (training place for the pilots), Moto Box (maintenance and preparation of motorcycles) and Shiro helmets.

The third stage of the championship will take place next Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16, in the city of Lima Duarte, in Brazil.
