This Tuesday after the first leg playoff between Universitario vs Corinthians for the Copa Sudamericana, played at the Neo Química Arena stadium in Sao Paulo, the merengue physical trainer Sebastián Avellino was arrested by the Brazilian police after being accused of making racist gestures to the stands .
According to Brazilian media, the member of the ‘U’ technical command imitated a monkey addressing Timão’s fans at the end of the match, which ended 1-0 in favor of the São Paulo team.
Avellino was transferred to the Itaquera Special Criminal Court (JECRIM) to give testimony. Corinthians fans came to that same place and denounced the physical trainer for making the racist gesture. Executives from Universitario de Deportes were also present.
