France Football confirmed the date for the delivery of the Ballon d’Or

The 2021 edition of the Ballon d’Or will be delivered on November 29, after last year the prestigious award given to the best footballer of the year was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic and the suspension of some competitions, reported this Wednesday France Football.

For now, next Friday, October 8, the 30 players who will be eligible for the award will be announced, chosen according to the vote of 180 journalists from around the world. Among the candidates will surely appear Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, Robert Lewandowski and other crack who have been breaking it.

Likewise, the French media detailed that the Ballon d’Or award ceremony will take place at a gala at the Châtelet Theater in Paris, the same place where Leo Messi received him for the sixth time in 2019, when he was still wearing the Barcelona shirt. . The evening will be led by retired forward Didier Drogba.

On the other hand, France Football will also award that same day the Women’s Ballon d’Or, the Kopa trophy, to the best player under 21 years old, and the Yashin trophy, to the best goalkeeper.

The 20 candidates for the Women’s Ballon d’Or, which the American Megan Rapinoe won in its only edition to date, will be chosen by a jury of 50 journalists specializing in sports football.

As for the Kopa trophy, won in its last edition by the Dutch Matthijs de Ligt, it will be 32 former winners of the Ballon d’Or who will decide the 10 candidates, while the 10 applicants for the trophy for the best goalkeeper to replace the Brazilian Alisson Becker will be chosen by the same jury as for the men’s Ballon d’Or.
