CAN 2024: everything you need to know about the draw

With 93 days until the opening match, the draw for the 2024 Canadian Championships in Ivory Coast took place this Thursday evening. Thanks to distinguished guests such as Sadio Mane, Achraf Hakimi and Didier Drogba, the 24 teams that have qualified for CAN know their opponents. This prank was not too cruel, such as offering a death party. Even if Senegal or Tunisia are not spoiled.

Usually, barring a catastrophe, major countries should get through this first round without any problems. The host nation, Ivory Coast, will face Nigeria and the two Guineas, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. Defending champions Senegal should also do well, even if they cross paths with Cameroon and Guinea. Finally, African heroes Morocco, semi-finalists of the last World Cup, went to DR Congo, Zambia and Tanzania.

The competition will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in five cities: Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro and Yamoussoukro. The next two CAN events will take place in Morocco in 2025 and in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in 2027.
