“It is a wonderful moment, but that does not change the situation at all, the most important thing is that his father is released,” coach Jürgen Klopp declared this Sunday after Colombian Luis Díaz’s goal that meant Liverpool’s draw in Luton (1- 1).
The 26-year-old attacker played his first minutes this Sunday after missing two games with the ‘Reds’, eight days after the kidnapping of his parents in Colombia. His mother was freed but his father is still in the hands of his captors.
“It’s wonderful that you wanted to be here. For us it is a super important goal and for him it is very important and very emotional, but that’s all,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
The Colombian international scored the equalizing goal in added time, about ten minutes after entering the field of play.
“We didn’t know how long he could play because he only had a few (training) sessions with the team, but that is not the most important thing today. He scored the goal but we need to see improvement in Colombia,” added the German coach.
