Argentina stripped Brazil of its historic undefeated record at home in qualifying in an eventful superclassic that began with a delay due to incidents in the stands of the Maracana, while Uruguay and Colombia continue to rise and are on the podium of the qualifiers.
In the same scenario where Argentina won the Copa América against the host two years ago and ended a 28-year drought without titles, the Albiceleste struck again this Tuesday against a historical asset of its archrival, which had never lost at home in a qualifier.
The five-time world champion had gone 65 games without losing at home, with 52 wins and 13 draws.
The world champion celebrated in style after the disputed match that central defender Nicolás Otamendi decided with a header to the right corner of goalkeeper Alisson in the 63rd minute.
