Luis Suárez reveals suffering from his knee: “My son asks me to play with him and I can’t”

Time passes and it doesn’t stop. Luis Suárez knew how to be at the top of the football elite throughout his long career. From his beginnings in his beloved Nacional, to his great performances in Liverpool or Barcelona, the scoring ability of the ‘Pistolero’ is undoubted. But at 36 years old, he is increasingly closer to retirement, although he resists.

This Monday, Suárez said goodbye to the Gremio fans with an authentic goal from outside the area. Surrounded by his family, he was cheered by more than 50,000 fans who packed the Arena do Gremio. Then, in an interview with 100% Deporte, he revealed the ailment in his right knee with which he lives.

“What I feel is a constant sting in my knee. Luckily it doesn’t generate liquid because I couldn’t even move it, but it gets stuck and I can’t even bend it. The days before each game I take three pills and hours before playing they inject me with Voltarén (anti-inflammatory and analgesic),” he indicated.

Furthermore, the top scorer of the Uruguayan team assured that he does not plan to retire, despite the constant martyrdom he endures. Likewise, his family life and his relationship with his son have also been affected.

“Now I can tolerate this osteoarthritis, but I have to think that in five years I may not be able to play 5-a-side football with my friends. The truth is that the first steps in the morning are very painful. Anyone who sees me thinks it’s impossible for me to play a game. “My son asks me to play with him and I can’t,” she lamented.
