There is a fundamental detail in this entire novel of the separation of Juan Reynoso as technical director of the Peruvian team who deserves special attention: it seems that, for Agustín Lozano, president of the Peruvian Football Federation, a signature has no value, with all that that means. It is a dead letter, attacking the reputation of doing business in the organization he directs. The most serious thing is that this situation is becoming a modus operandi in the FPF.

Let’s remember, what was the main problem of the conflict over League 1’s audiovisual rights? That the clubs with the advice of the FPF decided not to respect the preference clause in favor of the Peru Soccer Consortium for the renewal of contracts. This dispute is in process and 2024 could be a year of many (negative) developments for Peruvian soccer.

Because Juan Reynoso Doesn’t he dissociate himself from the FPF? Because they do not want to respect the compensation clause for unilateral termination of the contract and seek to pay you much less than what was signed. If this case goes to CAS or arbitration, the amount to be paid may be much higher than what appears in the contract if we add damages.

Currently the image of Juan Reynoso is in tatters. Not only because of sports, where he failed too much, but also his lack of flexibility to reach an agreement for his separation is being questioned.

He spends what he doesn’t have and lends money based on success scenarios, in an industry like football that is very difficult to predict. So, when there is no money, problems and defaults begin. For me, even, it was the most latent and I wrote it in a column in DT before the start of the playoffs.

There is a strong case that a very important firm is about to seize half a million dollars from the FPF accounts for non-payment by a supplier who installed a synthetic grass field. That is to say, the law is beginning to be enforced and it is breathing down Lozano’s neck.
