A new stage begins in the Peruvian team: Jorge Fossati will take over the reins of the ‘bicolor’ after the departure of Juan Reynoso, as announced by the Peruvian Football Federation. The Uruguayan coach left Universitario de Deportes, a club that he won as champion after nine years of drought, and will begin a new stage in his long career.
With thirty years of experience, ‘Flaco’ Fossati will wear the ‘blanquirroja’ jumpsuit (although the suit is his thing) and it would be his second opportunity to coach a national team.
Between 2004 and 2006 he coached the Uruguay national team, with which he achieved third place in the 2004 Copa América that was played in Peru. But his relationship ended after losing the playoffs against Australia and failing to qualify for the 2006 World Cup.
