Without preseason or visa, Jairo was not part of the squad that yesterday traveled to Miami for Sunday’s friendly against Atlético Nacional. He worked with the players who stayed to be ready for “La noche crema” next Saturday.

An expected signing in the Peruvian market, since in December he was released from Alianza – the intimates did not accept the sums that the midfielder demanded to renew – and he did not receive offers from abroad that convinced him, with one that he had since Asian football.
About Jairo Concha: from those around him they point out that the University offer was “difficult to reject.” The priority was always abroad, but there was nothing more than polls and conversations. If achieved, he will arrive as a two-time champion with Alianza Lima, the classic rival.@dt_elcomercio https://t.co/waaOjo3fAU

Thus, Jairo fulfills his old dream of playing for the club of which he is a fan for the first time. Born in Chorrillos, he took his first steps in football at the Julinho academy and then moved to the youth ranks at Universidad San Martín. It was in 2017 that a conversation between his Reserve coach Orlando Lavalle and Chemo del Solar allowed his debut in Primera. “When we practiced the dead ball, ‘Jairito’ was in charge of hitting it on the second play and he hit it like the gods. He had a glove, he put it where he wanted,” Lavalle recalled a few months ago.
It could have been cream in 2019, when both Alianza and the ‘U’ went in search of him, but San Martín reached an agreement with those close to Concha and Óscar Pinto. The dream had only been postponed.
At some point they described him as a modern footballer, for having the cerebral pass to generate scoring plays and the physical condition to make the journey and lend a hand on the score. In fact, in Alianza he played a lot alongside Josepmir Ballón on the first line. He then had more freedom to attack.
He arrives at the ‘U’ with three finals in a row – two titles and a runner-up. And with the weight of having worn the Peruvian shirt in the Sub 18, Sub 20 and Sub 23, even the senior team, but only in the friendlies at the beginning of 2022 against Panama and Jamaica.
He has been called up for the Qualifiers, but has not managed to stay on the final list to be able to debut. With a new technical command in the Bicolor, he surely aims to be more visible to dress in red and white.
