The Third Specialized Corporate Supraprovincial Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime, in charge of the investigation, is investigating members of the Peruvian Football Federation, including Agustín Lozano, for alleged crimes of criminal organization and others.

This is not Lozano’s only legal issue, since last November the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes of Corruption of Officials of Lambayeque requested a custodial sentence of six years and eight months against him for the crime of illicit enrichment.

According to the tax accusation, Lozano would have abused his position as mayor of Chongoyape to illicitly increase his assets by more than S/2.8 million, without being able to justify said imbalance.

In addition, years ago he was accused of allegedly committing the crime of money laundering in the case of reselling tickets during the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
