Nolberto Solano on working again with Ricardo Gareca: “I don’t know anything about the option of arriving in Chile”

“I still have contact with Ricardo. We talk and we always greet each other for the friendship we have created, but the truth is that I don’t know anything about the option of arriving in Chile,” he said in statements to La Tercera.

“If Ricardo hasn’t mentioned anything yet, he isn’t obligated to work with me either. He will make the decisions that he has to make,” Solano added.

The national strategist also referred to the early departure of Juan Reynoso from the position of coach, after not obtaining a single victory so far in the 2026 Qualifiers.

In addition, he praised the career of Jorge Fossati, who was chosen by the Peruvian Football Federation to replace Reynoso and try for a place in the next World Cup.

“Everything has been very fast. Sometimes, unplanned things happen. The Uruguayan came to be champion with Universitario and, unfortunately, Juan Reynoso did not do well at the start of the Qualifiers and Fossati ends up in the national team,” he noted.

“He is a coach with a lot of experience, in many clubs, also in the Uruguayan national team. Let’s hope that he can bring the Peruvian team back to the World Cup,” concluded Solano.
