The defender of Universitario de Deportes, Williams Riverosspoke about the beginning of the process of Jorge Fossati in command of the Peruvian team.
The 31-year-old Paraguayan was a starter in 2023 under his technical direction, when Universitario was crowned Peruvian soccer champion.
“May he be very successful, we always wish the ‘profe’ (Fossati) the best, and we will be attentive to that. I hope it goes well for him,” he said in statements to the Ovación program ‘EntreBolas’.
Meanwhile, Riveros said that Universitario is going through a good time and what shows them is the number of players they have in the red and white team.
“The team is firm and we want to continue like this,” he said. “That (call-up of 6 players) means that we have been doing things well, so let’s hope that our players continue to go to the national team.”
After a break due to FIFA date, the creams will face the César Vallejo University next Saturday, March 30 from 8 pm.
