Jairo Concha was part of the 2-1 victory of University of Sports on LDU, for the first date of Group D of the Libertadores Cupand referred to his entry in the first half.
“I wasn’t planning to play for so long, but due to Christofer’s (Gonzales) injury I had to go in and in fact without warming up well because it was something of a surprise,” he said in statements to the press.
“Unfortunately, during the game (the injury) was bothering me, but in this kind of game you have to give everything and I couldn’t get out for anything in the world,” he added.
Along these lines, he stressed that these types of matches suffer due to the demands of the rivals.
On the other hand, Concha praised the great moment that forward José Rivera is having, who scored the cream goals at the Monumental.
“The truth is that he is sweet, he is a great player, apart from that, he is a great person and he trains very well. What is happening to him is very deserved, both I and my teammates are happy for his moment,” he noted.
On the second and third dates of Group D of the competition, the creams will face Junior and Botafogo as a visitor.
