Peru reaches first place in South American muaythai teams and obtains 8 gold medals

In one of its most outstanding performances, the Peruvian team of muaythai He took first place in the 34th South American Championship held in Brazil.

In addition, our athletes achieved eight gold medals, another two silver and one bronze.

Those who rose to the top of the podium were Eduardo Alarcón (-54 kg), Gonzalo Zevallos (-57 kg), Luis Felipe Olivares (-67 kg), Joaquín Fernández (-71 kg), Suci Zerpa (-48 kg) , Angélica Buitrón (-51 kg), María Teresa Gutiérrez (-60 kg) and Matteo Celi (-81 kg).

While the silver medals were won by Gianina Sosa (-57 kg) and Sebastián Alarcón (-51 kg), while the bronze medal was won by Giovanni Yzaguirre (-63.5 kg).

This event, which was included in the activities of the famous Arnold Classic sports festival, took place from April 5 to 7 and was 3 days of competitions where forces were measured against the most outstanding competitors from the other neighboring countries of the South American region.

According to the national muaythai federation, the Peruvian team surprised its rivals with a very well-worked team, both in the physical and technical parts, and an overwhelming and determined attitude.

With this important achievement, national muaythai is once again placed in first place at the South American level and ratifies a condition that it has been imposing since 2022, the year in which it regained this place.
