2024 Olympic Games in Paris: group accused of sexual harassment “T’es pas net Baptiste” will not carry the Olympic flame

Since Wednesday morning, “You’re not pure Baptiste” has been making waves on social media with allegations that he sent several sexually explicit messages to minors in the past. Faced with the outrage caused by numerous testimonies, Kojo (Olympic Organizing Committee) and the young man decided to put an end to the great adventure promised to the latter: to become one of the bearers of the Olympic flame. . “Given the recent allegations against Baptiste, he, together with the Organizing Committee, decided not to carry the flame. A responsible decision given the situation,” Le Cojo told Le Parisien.

The 29-year-old made his presence known with a viral video shot in 2017 of his act attempting to light a fire and was chosen as a torchbearer by the Organizing Committee. But on Wednesday, April 17, several women said on social media that they had received sexually explicit messages from him in the past, even though they were underage at the time of the events.

After the first video accusing the young man, others were published. The alleged victim shared a screenshot of a conversation in which Baptiste allegedly told a 15-year-old girl (he was an adult at the time), “When you put it in your mouth, you’ll see if it’s small,” when referring to her gender. I will spank you,” “You deserve to be punished,” “You are a naughty girl,” he wrote to another, according to the TikTok testimony.

In addition to these messages, a young woman anonymously made allegations on Instagram of unauthorized thigh fondling, which, if proven, could be classified as sexual assault.

“I am determined to learn from my mistakes.”

Baptized by Muaro with his real name, he is considered innocent. For his part, without directly admitting to the allegations against him, he posted an apology on his Instagram Story on Wednesday. “I address these words to you with deep sincerity. I have made mistakes and I deeply regret them. Becoming a father and starting my own family has made me truly aware of the importance of my actions and the example I want to set. I am committed to learning from my past mistakes and continuing to work towards a better world. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

He did not respond to our requests, but this Thursday he posted a message on Instagram in which he indicated that he had “decided to abandon the torch relay.”
