Carlos Zambrano shared his desire to retire from professional football with the shirt of the Cantolao Academywith which he did the minor divisions before leaving for German football.
The current defender of Alianza Lima highlighted his fandom for the blue and white team, but also his desire to dress in the colors that saw him take his first steps in football.
“I am very clear and direct, I always wanted to play in Alianza, I dreamed of playing in Alianza, I have been a fan since I was little, but I always dreamed of retiring in Cantolao,” he said on the YouTube program ‘Enfocados’.
“It’s something I’m missing. Cantolao is in the second (division) right now. God willing that it rises and it can be easier for me. That is, play first and retire,” he added.
Zambrano is close to turning 35 years old and, despite not starting the preseason with the Alianza Lima squad, he is already the undisputed starter in Alejandro Restrepo’s eleven.
The ‘Kaiser’ would be one of the novelties in the next call-up of the Peruvian national team coach Jorge Fossati.
