Eight girls’ teams compete for the Copa del Futbolito, Bimbo 2024

With the enthusiasm of 80 girl athletes, accompanied by their families and friends, the Futbolito Bimbo 2024 tournament began, an exciting contest that seeks to promote talent and healthy competition, in addition to promoting greater visibility of women’s soccer and equality of gender in sport.

This tournament, developed for more than 60 years in various countries around the world, and which presents its second edition in Peru, brings together 8 teams of 10 girls each, between 9 and 12 years old. Each participating team has been previously selected in alliance with Ligas Femeninas F7, a social company whose main objective is to contribute to the reduction of gender inequality, and through football, make a fairer country.

The competition consists of 3 dates and the winning team will not only receive a trophy, but will also have the opportunity for one of its members to travel to Spain and see the legendary Barcelona Football Club stadium.

“This event not only seeks to promote sports among girls, but also promote values ​​such as teamwork, discipline and fair play. At Bimbo, we are proud of the enthusiasm of the participants and their families and we are sure that this tournament will be a great experience for all of them,” expressed the Marketing Manager of Grupo Bimbo Peru, Pablo Carvajal.

It should be noted that Futbolito Bimbo, an initiative promoted by Grupo Bimbo, current main partner of the FC Barcelona women’s team, is part of the commitment that the baking company has to contribute to the comprehensive development of society, promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting initiatives that empower women through sport.

The opening day of the championship took place at the Toca y Pasa Sports Complex in San Miguel, and was attended by prominent women’s soccer figures such as Grecia Robles and Micaela Campoblanco from Alianza Lima, and Mía Meist from Sporting Cristal. The final date of the tournament will be held on May 18.
