McKenna de Bever breaks four national swimming records in the United States

Standout swimmer McKenna de Bever has made history by breaking four national records during her participation in two recent competitions in the United States. Our representative, who is part of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), demonstrated her impressive talent at the Atlanta Speedo Classic 2024 and the Tennessee Aquatic Club May Invite, achieving new marks in various modalities.

De Bever set a new record in the women’s 200 meter medley with a time of 2:14.70, surpassing the previous national mark. Her performance continued to be exceptional in the women’s 100 meter backstroke, where she recorded a time of 1:01.99, establishing herself as the fastest swimmer in Peru in this category.

But McKenna’s streak of success didn’t stop there. He also broke two other national records. In the women’s 100m freestyle, De Bever achieved a time of 56.20, while in the women’s 50m backstroke, she clocked an impressive 29.04. These achievements not only underline her dedication and talent, but also raise the standard of aquatic sports in Peru.

With these new records, de Bever has not only solidified his place in Peruvian swimming history, but has also put his country on the map of global competitive swimming.
