Authorities increased the number of babies killed in fire recorded around midnight Saturday at a children’s hospital in New Delhiofficial sources reported today.
“Twelve newborns were rescued from the medical center, but seven of them died”, the Delhi Fire Brigade chief informed the media, Atul Garg.

The Minister of Health of the Indian capital, Saurabh Bharadwajhad initially reported six dead babies and one in critical condition.

Images from outside the hospital show the building and adjacent vehicles completely engulfed in flames.
The parents of the children admitted to the center are still awaiting confirmation of their deathsin the absence of DNA tests to corroborate the bodies’ identity, relatives told the press in front of the hospital.
