This is what Mbappé said about the Euro Cup and why his statements are so controversial

Kylian Mbappé It is a trend again due to some controversial statements. This time, the star player of the moment gave his opinion on the Euro Cup and put it at the highest level, even above the World Cup. As expected, his words were not well received by everyone, except outside Europe.

“For me it is more difficult than a World Cup,” the new Real Madrid player said without hesitation this Monday, during the press conference prior to the French team’s match against Luxembourg, before the Blues’ debut in two weeks against Austria in the European Championship in Germany.

Kylian Mbappé’s statements today

In his first public appearance as a Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappé decided to say everything he had kept to himself in recent months, when PSG regularly sat him on the bench by refusing to renew: “There were things that made me bitter, but I didn’t I could say them because I am a leader.”

Mbappé began his press conference in the crowded press room of the Stade Saint-Symphorien, in Metz, clarifying that he would only talk about Real Madrid in his introduction and that what he wanted was to focus on his team, which tomorrow plays against Luxembourg before making its debut in two weeks against Austria in the European Championship in Germany.

However, after 20 minutes, the France captain vented his anger in front of journalists and settled pending scores with the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“I have played much less this end of the season and everyone knows why,” said the striker raised in Bondy, without mentioning the name of the leader. Since he was separated from the team for a few weeks in the summer of 2023 for refusing to renew, the fight between Al-Khelaifi and Mbappé has not eased.

In the final stretch of the season, when it was more than a given that it was not going to continue, the French star played less than usual in the local championship.

During the conference this Tuesday, the player himself implied that it was an exclusive decision of the senior management of the Parisian entity, clarifying that the team’s coach, Luis Enrique Martínez, and the sports advisor, the Portuguese Luis Campos , had a mediating role.

“They have saved me, without them I would not have set foot on the playing field. That is the truth and I have always had that gratitude for what they did for me,” he stated.

The player assured that he does not intend to “bite the hand that has fed him” for the last seven years, but acknowledged that there were “things in the club” that made him unhappy.

Due to all the aggravations he had to deal with, he estimated that the season that just ended has been “the best of his career”, although his 44 goals are “somewhat below” his average.

Mbappé tried to put into perspective the pressure that he says he has suffered in recent months within PSG and recognized himself as privileged.

“They educated me not to regret, they pay me a lot to play soccer, something that is my passion, while there are people who have to get up to go to the factory and have a hard job,” he said. However, he noted, “what I have experienced, I would not wish on anyone.”

In his introduction about Real Madrid without the right to questions, Mbappé elaborated on “the pride and relief” of finally wearing the white shirt, after three failed attempts in the past, and remembered the white leader.

“I thank all the people at Real Madrid who have worked on this transfer, especially Florentino Pérez, who has always trusted me from day one.”

The brand new Real Madrid signing promised a “humble” attitude in the Spanish capital and highlighted the congratulatory messages he has received from some Merengue legends, such as Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos (with whom he played two seasons at PSG) and Cristiano Ronaldo (his teenage idol).

“I think that a happy man is more likely to play well than an unhappy one (…) Now I am very happy, but smiling will not win games. We must be prepared (for the Euro), me, the first,” he concluded.
