TV audience: 11.25 million for France’s entry into Euro 2024

An Austrian own goal, Mbappe’s broken nose, many yellow cards, three points for France’s victory in Group D and the XXL audience of TF1, which broadcast the French team’s entrance to Euro 2024. On Tuesday morning, the front page could explode with champagne: according to Médiamétrie, the meeting was watched live by 11.25 million viewers. The market share of the population aged four years and older is 47.6%. Among housewives over 50, it rises to 53.4%. This is simply the best audience of 2024 that the series “HPI” with Audrey Fleurot had in three weeks.

However, the audience for this first meeting of the French at Euro 2024 is much smaller than for the previous meeting. On Tuesday 15 June 2021, M6 attracted 15.1 million French and German supporters (57.5% of the public). In 2016, the France-Romania match, the Blues’ first home fixture, attracted 14.4 million people (54.8% of the audience).

Can the Blues do better this Friday night against the Netherlands? The match will be broadcast live on TV channel M6, which shares free-to-air rights to broadcast the European football tournament with its main competitor TF1.
