Latest news from Kylian Mbappé: will he play again at Euro 2024?

The star of the French national team Kylian Mbappé fractured his nose during the ‘Bleus’ first match at Euro 2024 against Austria, this Monday in Düsseldorf. The ‘Turtle’ could not finish the match due to the break he suffered.

After hitting the back of Austrian defender Kevin Danso while trying to head a ball, the ‘Bleus’ captain had to sit on the grass before walking to the locker room with his bloody nose.

Before, the French captain shook the Austrians with his speed, and in one of these starts he crossed for Maximilian Wober to score with a header against his goal, after not understanding with his defense partner Danso (38).

After the match, the French Football Federation ruled on the case: “Kylian Mbappé suffered a broken nose during the second half of the Austria-France match this Monday in Düsseldorf”the statement says, according to Reuters.

“The captain of the French team was first treated by medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed a broken nose. The diagnosis [fue] confirmed during radiological examinations at the Düsseldorf hospital”they add.

“Kylian Mbappé has returned to the base camp of the French team. He will undergo treatment in the coming days, without undergoing surgery immediately. A mask will be made so that the number 10 of the French team can consider resuming the competition after a period dedicated to treatment.”

Mbappé fulfilled his mission on the field, after having called on Sunday “for young people to vote” because “the extremes are at the doors of power” in France, with early legislative elections (June 30 and July 7), “ a crucial moment in the history” of his country.

“We will be there to defend the colors of our country, to try to win this game,” he promised later.

A day later, wearing the captain’s armband, Mbappé saved the ‘Bleus’ from falling into Austria’s trap, in a match in which the French were dominant but imprecise in their scoring opportunities, Mbappé included.
