Piero Quispe on his performance in the Copa America: “Maybe I’ll do better in the qualifiers”

The midfielder Piero Quispe He was called to be the leader of the Peruvian team in the America Cup from the United States, however he did not have a good presentation and was self-critical of his performance.

Even in the last match against Argentina he was not considered by coach Jorge Fossati.

“Sadness, more than anything, because we had a good group. But that’s how it is. We’ll keep going. I felt calm. Maybe I wasn’t the same as always, but I’m going to try to improve for my club. I feel like I haven’t played badly or well,” he told the media upon his arrival in Lima.

“Everyone has a bad game. “I am going to continue working and give my all,” Quispe added.

The 22-year-old attacker also hopes to have better performances in the key duels in September against Colombia and Ecuador.

“This is football. Maybe I do better in the Qualifiers. I know what I’m worth and I know what I play. There will always be criticism and for that we have to work mentally,” he noted.

Peru finished last in Group A of the competition and was eliminated along with the Chilean team.
