No detail went unnoticed in the preview of the Copa Libertadores final. Striker Gabriel Barbosa, better known as ‘Gabibol’, once again broke the football rule that indicates that the trophy should not be touched before starting the game, because according to what they say, it brings bad luck.

For Gabigol it does not seem to be much of a problem, because he quickly played the trophy again. This is not the first time he has done it. In the final of the 2019 edition, he also carried out the same action, generating many comments among journalists and fans.

On that occasion, it seemed that bad fortune was playing against him, because he was missing for almost the entire game, except for the last minutes, when he scored the two goals with which Flamengo came back over River Plate (2-1).

It is the second final disputed by Gabriel Barbosa. The first was with triumph and now he is looking for his second coronation in his career. Flamengo reached the final after beating Atlético Mineiro in the semifinals, who was the great favorite to win the title.

For his part, Palmeiras will try to become the first team in 20 years to lift the cup in two consecutive seasons. The last to achieve that milestone was Argentina’s Boca Juniors in 2000 and 2001.

Steeped in history, both squads know that now is the time to write a new page. With two Liberators each, the possibility of putting a new glass in the showcases is more at hand than ever. For this, the coaches will bet on teams with figures on all lines.
