Raúl Ruidíaz appears in the MLS ideal team of the year

Raúl Ruidíaz became the second top scorer of the Major League Soccer season with 17 touchdowns. For that reason, MLS recognized his work and included the Seattle Sounders FC striker in the Dream Team of the Year.

“A fourth consecutive season of double-digit strikes and the best yet with 17. A scoring machine”, thus described the official account of the league to the ‘Flea’.

El jugador peruano comparte el once ideal con M. Turner (New England Revolutions), Y. Gómez Andrade (Sounders) M. Robinson (Atalanta), W. Zimmerman (Nashville), T. Buchanan (New England), C. Gil (New England Revolutions ), H. Mukhtar (Nashville), J. Paulo (Sounders), G. Bou (New England) y V. Castellanos (New York City).

The fate of Raúl Ruidíaz is still uncertain. Although, a few weeks ago, he published a message – through his social networks – which would be his farewell from Seattle.

This season has not been easy or the best for me or for the group of players, but we have tried to do our best for this great club. At the end of this season, some of those great efforts weren’t enough and I couldn’t finish the year the way I wanted, but the fighting never stopped. Thank you all for your support, you will always be in my heart, I will never forget you”, Wrote the scorer.

In the same way, he used several of his Instagram stories to post videos of some of the performances he had in Major League Soccer. Fans certainly have fond memories of his performance, as he quickly became the leader of the offense.

Only in its first months (final stretch of 2018), the ‘Pulga’ scored 13 goals in 16 presentations, responding to the expectations it generated after shining with Monarcas Morelia in Liga MX. Then, in 2019, he celebrated 15 times in 26 appearances and capped the Seattle Sounders’ brilliant campaign with the MLS title.

The following year (2020) he inflated the networks 14 times (22 appearances), but he was left with the desire to celebrate: he finished runner-up. And this 2021, he had his best year, despite injuries, with 17 touchdowns in 27 games, although things did not go well collectively: the team was eliminated prematurely in the playoffs.
