William Tesillo, León defender, condemned through social networks the racist comments he received from the narrator Raúl Pérez in the first leg of the semifinal of the Apertura 2021 Tournament between his team and Tigres. In turn, the communicator for the TUDN network apologized to the Colombian in the same way.

A very reckless and nonsensical comment made by Mr. Raúl Pérez during the broadcast of the Tigres vs. León hurt my family, all the people who support me, love me and many more people, complained the soccer player of the selection in a statement released on their official profiles.

Perez said “Tesillo’s bruises are not going to be seen” while narrating the duel last Wednesday that the Tigers beat León 2-1 in which the ‘coffee-growing’ defender was there for 90 minutes.

The commenter then apologized for his words on his Twitter account: “To William Tesillo, his family, his teammates and all the people that I may have offended with a comment during the broadcast … What I expressed was not intended to be interpreted, he justified.

Tesillo accepted the apology and assured that he should not remain silent when faced with an expression of racism. My obligation is to express anger and disagreement in a situation like this, in which the issue of racism and discrimination should not be taken lightly. These types of comments will always be unacceptable.added the 31-year-old defender.

Tesillo added that soccer should be an example for everyone and trusted that racist incidents will not be repeated in Mexican football. For his part, León also showed his support for the Colombian on his social networks with an image of the defender in which he wrote “In this team we are all the same” and “In this team #TodosSomosTesillo”.

At the end

The condemnable racist act occurred last Wednesday in the first leg between Tigres and León. This Saturday, there was a rematch between both teams to define the first finalist (the second will come between Atlas and Pumas). So the team that Tesillo defends won 2-1 at home and will fight for the Apertura 2021 title.

The Colombian, who saw a yellow card, was on the court the entire match and celebrated with Ángel Mena’s double that installed the squad led by Ariel Holan to the definition of the Aztec championship.
