Max Verstappen won Lewis Hamilton in a final of heart attack in the Formula 1 in the Abu Dabhi race. However, hours after the Dutchman’s victory, Mercedes – the British driver’s team – filed a claim with the International Automobile Federation (SON).

Mercedes has protested the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualification in relation to alleged infringements of articles 48.8 and 48.12 of the FIA Sporting Regulations “, F1 indicated in his message through social networks.

The German team refers to article 48.8 which mentions that “No driver may overtake another car on the track, including the Safety Car, until he passes the line (see Article 5.3) for the first time after the Safety Car has returned to the pits”; in other words, they consider that Verstappen should not have allowed himself to pass over the relegated and the Safety Car.

However, hours after uncertainty, the FIA issued a statement in which it rejects Mercedes’ claim that Max Verstappen remains the Formula 1 champion.

The entity argued that the commissioners observed that the Dutchman’s car moved slightly in front of the other mobile. However, “I was not in front when the Safety Car period ended.” “Consequently, the protest is dismissed,” they explained.

Verstappen was excited after his championship

In the final seconds of the race and after the tension that he experienced throughout the campaign and, of course, on the circuit developed in the United Arab Emirates, Verstappen’s first reaction was to vent with a loud shout to celebrate the most important conquest in your professional career.
