More than a year after his death, the image of Diego Armando Maradona still remains in the minds of his family, friends and most football fans. The most amateur people want to have a memory of the ‘D1OS’ and, especially, they should be vigilant because the former player’s first car will be auctioned from 400,000 dollars.

In 1982, the soccer legend bought a Fiat 128 Europa when he was playing for Barcelona in Spain. The ‘Pelusa’ decided to acquire that vehicle on December 24 as a gift to himself for his good moment in the Barça team.

Then Maradona sold it in 1984 shortly before moving to Napoli in Italy. Since then, the mobile’s whereabouts were unknown when in 2003 a hen house in Salto (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina) was found abandoned by the collector, Martín Varrone.

In addition, it was known that the Fiat 128 was still in the name of the ‘Pibe de oro’ in the automotive registry. Likewise, the purchase procedures had been done Jorge Cyterszpiler, former football representative.

The auction begins this Wednesday, December 15 and will have a duration of 60 days. In this period, investors will be able to offer their prices. In addition, the mobile will be accompanied by an NFT, a non-fungible token that will indicate that that person has the vehicle.

“The first car is like the first love: it is never forgotten. For this reason, although throughout his life he handled all kinds of iron (from a Ferrari to a truck), Diego Maradona’s Fiat 128 (1960-2020) will remain forever in the memory of his followers ”, explained the organizers of the XaveMarket auction.
