Almost seven months after his arrival at Everton, the Spanish coach Rafa Benitez he was removed from office. The poor results and the last defeat against Norwich (2-1) in the Premier League, consummated his departure.

Rafa’s campaign was very poor in terms of numbers. Of 19 games played, they only won five games. They are closer to the relegation zone than to qualifying for an international tournament for next season.

The Spaniard came to the team to replace Carlo Ancelotti, who at the time left the team to return to Real Madrid. The ‘toffee’ project was ambitious, but the results have not been as expected.

According to information from Sky Sports, the names to replace Rafa Benítez are: Roberto Martínez, Rudi Garcia, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Duncan Ferguson, the latter Benítez’s assistant.

“It’s really disappointing because they’re working so hard. We are doing a lot of things that are good for the future, bringing in new players, but we need to win on the pitch. Other things are not in my hands. I have to do my job”, said the coach in his last press conference, before the decision to leave was made.
