Tom Brady retires after 22 NFL seasons and 7 Super Bowl wins

After 22 seasons as a professional player, the 44-year-old American Tom Brady will say goodbye to the NFL. According to information from ESPN, his retirement is not due to any physical complication, the Californian wants to spend more time with his family.

In ESPN they indicate that Tom will make his retirement official in the coming days. With seven Super Bowl wins, Tom is considered the best football player in history. The first six he got with the New England Patriots and the last with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The current Tampa Bay quarterback left his future in the air after being eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL divisional round. Tom has one more season left on his contract in Tampa and until recently he had not ruled out playing beyond the age of 45.

However, there were already hints indicating that the end was near. In a recent interview, he gave a lot of importance to his family: “They have been my biggest supporters. My wife is my biggest support. It hurts him to see me get hit around. And he deserves what he needs from me as a husband and my children deserve what they need from me as a father.”.

“And I’m going to spend some time with them and give them what they need, because they’ve really been giving me what I need to do for the last six months, what I love to do. I said this a few years ago, it’s what relationships are all about. It’s not always what I want. It’s what we want as a family.”, he added.

Tom Brady is not only the player who has won the most Super Bowls, he also has several records, some of them the three MVPs achieved and being the one with the most regular season victories with 232.
