The Peruvian futsal team lost to Venezuela 3-2 in their debut in group B of the Copa América Paraguay 2022. The squad led by Francisco Castelo Branco will have to turn the page quickly and focus on recovering the pace against Bolivia this Sunday.

Despite attempts by the ‘Blanquirroja’ to get ahead on the scoreboard, the ‘Vinotinto’ took the lead with Wilson Francia’s goal 10 minutes into the game. With this partial result, both teams went to rest.

Upon returning to the field, the ‘Bicolor’ reacted by scoring the tie through Ángel Angulo. However, Venezuela reacted and quickly managed to break parity thanks to Andrés Terán’s goal and then Carlos Sanz scored 3-1.

With three minutes to go, Jordi Rivera put the game on hold after marking Peru’s second favour. The national team tried to equalize, however, they did not reach the time.
