Millions of Samsung Galaxys affected by a security breach

According to the company Kryptowire, which specializes in cybersecurity, millions of Samsung Galaxy phones are currently affected by a particularly worrying flaw. All of these smartphones running Android 9, 10, 11 and 12 would be affected by this breach, as Phonandroid reports.

According to information from our colleagues, this flaw detected in November 2021 “allows local applications to perform privileged operations without the user’s authorization”.

Install the update

In other words, hackers can exploit this vulnerability to attempt to take control of the device remotely, through an infected application. In fact, they could then make calls, install or uninstall applications, reset the phone, etc.

In order to avoid this, the Kryptowire report recommends that all users download the new security update available since February 2022. To do this, simply go to the phone’s settings, select the “A About the device” then “Software update” and finally launch the update by following the instructions.
