YouTube presents ‘Super Thanks’, another way to earn money for youtubers

Youtube has extended to 68 countries around the world, including Peru, its ‘Super Thanks’ tool, which allows viewers to access a new way to donate money to their favorite content creators.

Content creators represent one of the mainstays of platforms like YouTube. For this reason, the company puts at your service more and more ways to monetize your videos that, according to its own calculations, now amount to ten.

Introduced in 2021 in beta phase and for a specific number of channels, the platform has expanded its reach to a total of 68 countriesincluding the Peru, Mexico, Spain, Uruguay, Colombia, Argentina, Chileas he explains on his blog.

The initiative joins ‘Super Chat’ and ‘Super Stickers’ within the YouTube Partner Program. ‘Super Thanks’ allows viewers to donate between $2 and $50 (in the local currency equivalent of each country) to their content creators from the comments section.

YouTube explains that donors will see a “funny” GIF and, as an addition, they will see their featured comment that, in addition, content creators can appreciate from the ‘like’ button.

To activate ‘Super Thanks’ if you are a content creator, you must go to YouTube Studio and, once there in the menu on the left, look for the Super section within the section dedicated to Monetization.

The platform adds that viewers will also be able to customize their ‘Super Thanks’ comment, something that has been one of the main requests from its users since it started in beta. This new tool is available both in the desktop version of the application and on mobile devices.
