DeLorean Alpha 5: the renewed car of “Back to the future” that is now electric

When it comes to talking about iconic movie cars, the DeLorean from “Return to the future” can not miss in our memory. Today, as in the movie saga, the vehicle returns from the future renewed in its DeLorean Alpha 5 version, worked on by the company DeLorean Motor Company (DCM).

The design maintains some features of the previous DeLorean, such as the two side doors that open upwards, but it is a modern and fully electric version, with capacity for four people.

Also, from the information that has been advanced, some features of the coupe include a range of more than 300 miles, a battery of more than 100 kWh and electronically limited top speeds of 155 mph, as noted on the DCM website.

“Design comes from inspiration and a recognized heritage is a perfect input. This gave us a clear direction that has been projected forward thanks to the creativity of a passionate team”, indicates Dario Lauriola, in charge of exterior design.

So far there is no known date for it to go on sale. However, the newspaper El Tiempo reports that it will be released to the public on August 18 and, although details of its value are not known, it is estimated to be between 150,000 and 175,000 dollars.
