WhatsApp will also allow you to create polls in individual chats

WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to create and share polls in individual chats, a feature previously only supported for multi-member or group chats.

The company has been developing this functionality for months, since WABetaInfo warned in March that it was introducing the ‘Create surveys’ button, a section that then had a section to include a question.

It was not until the beginning of October when this same portal learned that the instant messaging application was launching this capability for some testers of the latest iOS beta, through the TestFlight program.

Then, he commented that the app would show these users the ‘Survey’ option, along with other elements that they can share in a group, such as documents, images or audio. He also confirmed that the creators of the polls could add up to 12 different answer options.

Now, WABetaInfo has confirmed that these polls can also be done in individual chats and that the company has started to implement this functionality through the Google Play beta program, in version 2.22.23.12 of WhatsApp for Android.

When setting up the survey, the interface that the application now presents is identical to that of chats with several memberssince it includes a section to enter the question at the top, followed by several options to write the answer alternatives.

In addition, at the bottom there is a button to add options (+ Add), which, as in group chats, allows you to add up to 12 possible answers. Likewise, WhatsApp will automatically update the polls when they receive a vote and these will be kept end-to-end encrypted.
