This option, which allows you to know during the game who is on the call and speaking, adjust the sound or switch between Voice and Xbox chat, initially came to the Xbox Insider program, to then be extended to other players.

Several Reddit and Twitter users recently shared screenshots of a new option included in the app’s interface that allows them to ‘Join Voice on PlayStation’, a feature that appears below ‘Join Xbox’ in the latest Discord beta.

Once this button is pressed, Discord requires players to add the PlayStation account, in order to show their identifier and the games they are playing. In addition, it will redirect them to the Sony accounts section through an external link.

According to the published screenshots, this option will only come to Sony’s next-generation console, PS5, and not the immediately preceding version PlayStation 4 (PS4). At the moment, neither Sony nor Discord have confirmed the validity of this functionality.
