Starlink: satellite internet for long trips in trailers would come out in December

The automotive industry is full of challenges. One of them is to ensure that vehicles have access to satellite internet, even on the move. This is the idea of star linkthe project of the company SpaceX and it would be a reality as of December of this year.

Billionaire Elon Musk’s company made this announcement, although it was only intended to access the internet when the vehicle is parked, such as in a remote cabin or mountain, The Verge reported.

Connectivity will be possible at any time, but for recreational vehicles, which are also known as caravans or trailers, especially for trips with family or friends. Even on business trips.

However, the service will not be cheap. To access you need a SpaceX satellite dish that costs $599. For the internet to work on the move, another $2,500 flat antenna is needed. In addition, there is a monthly cost of US$135. That is, an installation cost of at least 12 thousand soles and the monthly payment of more than 500 soles.

But there is another detail in this internet option: it will only be available in “selected markets” since SpaceX only promises “high speed and low latency” internet in countries like the United States and Canada. Over time, this service could reach planes and cruise ships.
