Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced that it has surpassed the barrier of 25 million consoles Playstation 5 (PS5) sold worldwide since its launch, which took place in November 2020.
The company has released this and other data during the presentation of the financial results corresponding to the second quarter of the year (Q2 2022) of the current fiscal year, which began in April 2022 and will end in March of next year.

In this last period analysed, specifically, the Japanese manufacturer has managed to sell 3.3 million units of its next-generation consolesame amount recorded in the same period of the previous year.
Taking into account the data reported during the first quarter of the year 2022, when 2.4 million PS5s were sold (compared to 2.3 million units corresponding to the same quarter of 2021), sales have been higher than those of 2021 in so far this year.

Despite these good results, if this situation continued, Sony would not be able to fulfill its plans at the end of the 2022 fiscal year, since its objective was to sell 18 million PS5s and, for the moment, it has only sold 5.7 million consoles.
The sum of all the sales records of its latest generation console determines that Sony has managed to sell 25 million units since the launch of this product for gamers.
